Skimflex was founded in 2018 by Ian Jones, who, like many plasterers, had a passion for tools and kit, often experimenting with the latest technologies, including plastering machines. Recognizing the demand for high-quality plastering tools and the need for fast, reliable deliveries, Ian set out to create a brand that ensured customers received their tools before they even needed them.

After the pandemic, Ian noticed a significant rise in prices for popular brands, with items like trowels now selling for over £80. Upon researching, he discovered there was a market for similar, high-quality tools at half the price. After testing numerous products, Ian decided that great quality and affordability could be packaged into a brand that would compete with the larger names in the industry.

Skimflex now offers a wide range of tools, including plastering trowels, flexi trowels, sponge floats, straight edges, rendering tools, and plastering spatulas. The brand has made a significant impact on platforms like eBay, Amazon, and B&Q, and continues to expand.

Looking ahead, Skimflex is focused on further growth, aiming to get its tools into more local builders’ merchants while also developing a website that offers affordable pricing and free delivery for all their great products.
